Hedleys Booksellers

Hedleys in Masterton is a booklover's paradise - and a treasure in the New Zealand booksellers' scene.  In 2017 they celebated  110 years of business  - they're the oldest owned bookshop in New Zealand. 

William Hedley gave up selling papers from the back of his bike and set up a newsagent's shop: the store on Queen Street has been run by the same family for three generations. 

Today, William's grandson David and his wife Jenny specialise in New Zealand books, especially art and history. Pop and rock biographies - from Bowie to Led Zeppelin - are also a focus. But Hedley' has the wide range you'd expect in any quality bookstore. Tell them what you want and they can probably track it down for you!
