Pukaha Mount Bruce National Wildlife Centre

Pukaha Mount Bruce is just 20 minutes north of Masterton and is the home to Manukura, our little white kiwi, the only white kiwi in captivity in the world.

This fantastic wildlife centre is a chance to see endangered wildlife such as tuatara, eels, kaka, kokako and kiwi up close while learning what you can do to help keep these species thriving.

Everyday at Pukaha you can enjoy seven daily talks - best enjoyed over a whole day. Walk thorugh their fantastic Free flight aviary home to many native New Zealand birds, enjoy lunch at Wild Cafe - a highlight with curious Kaka happy to swoop in and introduce themselves and views over the takahe enclosure.

Get up close and personal with a Behind the Scenes tour. Visit the takahe and Antipodes Island parakeet, watch a kiwi health check, help feed the eels, tuatara and kaka.
