The Runholder is the new home for Te Kairanga and Martinborough Vineyards, two of the region's pioneering wineries, and Lighthouse Gin, NZ's oldest craft gin.
Boasting a restaurant, tasting room, cellar door and gin distillery overlooking Martinborough's rolling hills and vineyards, The Runholder is the place to enjoy Wairarapa's exquisite food, fine wine and original gin only 5 minutes drive or 10 minutes pedal from Martinborough Square.

Wine tasting

- Guided Tasting Experience - your knowledgeable host will guide you through a tasting of 5 iconic wines, plus a taste of Lighthouse Gin, seated in the private dining room. You may be joined by other like-minded wine enthusiasts around the table with no more than 12 guests per tasting session. You'll also get a look at the subterranean barrel hall or home vineyards.
- Self Guided Tasting - enjoy a wine tasting tray, wine by the glass or gin cocktail, accompanied by antipasti platters and small plates from the Wine Bar Menu, seated on bar stools in the Tasting Room, or lounge seating on the viewing terrace in fine weather.
