Local photographer Geoff Walker has travelled extensively throughout the Wairarapa over the last 18 months photographing woolsheds and the people associated with them.
This exhibition celebrates the sheds, the shearers and the rural environment they work in.

This stunning exhibition by Jane Kellahan, ‘The Land of the Peacock’ comprises a series of theatrical like paintings in which the artist employs the use of masks and birds as symbols through which to explore themes of masculinity, courtship, relationships, and identity. Kellahan also uses the symbol of the mask to highlight the way people present themselves in certain situations - to hide particular aspects of themselves in their interaction with others.
This exhibition will be on show at the Carterton Events Centre in Holloway Street from 12 May – 17 July 2012.

He has been a full time artist since leaving the teaching profession at Cargill High School, Invercargill in 1997, where he was associate teacher for 7 years. He has a fine arts degree from Canterbury University and has exhibited regularly, winning a number of painting awards and is well presented in public and private collections and has close to 30 solo exhibitions to his name.
